According to Robert Wuthnow, artistic and cultural movements and the resulting works are not merely reflective of social structure but are produced and in the process of production themselves need sufficient resources for production and a suitable social space for growth at historical turning points. are.This study examines the social, political and cultural contexts of the formation of the discourse of social commitment in Iranian art from the Constitutional Revolution to the Islamic Revolution under the left discourse and And using Wuthnow's theoretical model in response to the question of what conditions have provided the necessary ground for the formation of the discourse of social commitment in art and how close are the works of social art to the goals of this discourse? Tries to show that: a) the prevailing conditions over time, it has created a crisis in the existing discourse order, mobilized resources and formed chains of interaction, and b) these factors have led to the production of a social commitment discourse and its selection and institutionalization in the field of literature and art. The left tendency among artists and on the other hand the wave of modernism caused the discourse of social commitment in Iranian art to be heavily politicized. In this research, with the help of historical data and in library studies, the social and political conditions of the time and the crisis in the social-political discourse order of the period in question are studied, and then, by reading the existing works,
