The paper questions include: what are the most important environmental problems and issues in Iran, and what are the necessities of dealing cinema and filmmakers with these problems and issues? To make people and policy makers more sensitive to environmental problems and issues, narrative cinema gives more opportunities and paves the way or the documentary cinema? The research theoretical approach is inclined theoretical social constructivism. Social constructionism does not deny the role of natural and environmental factors, but emphasizes that the extent and manner of this influence depends on human construction. The method of the research is qualitative. Thus, to analyze the cinema dealing with environmental problems and issues, semi-structured interviews with 15 experts in different fields were implemented. By analyzing the data gathered through interviews, 15 main themes are extracted. The research findings show that concentration on environmental aesthetics and avoidance of a bespoken approach to the environment (versus endogenous approach) are the most important necessities of cinema for dealing with environmental problems and issues in Iran.
