Imagination has been studied and theorized in the field of philosophy and art, many have considered imagination to be a fundamental part of the process of creating an artwork and have listed the basis of evaluating works based on the artist's presence in the field of imagination. Abu Nasr Farabi, nicknamed Muallem Sani, one of the most famous Iranian-Islamic thinkers, has written theories in the field of fantasy and has defined three general areas with one subset for fantasy. Although there is no distinction between the words fantasy and imagination in his works, this difference can be seen in the third part, which is itself divided into two parts. In this article, the author has discussed the feasibility of Farabi's fantasy function in contemporary art, and to explain the problem of the paintings of Hannibal Khas and Habibullah Sadeghi as contemporary Iranian artists who have created different works and with different periods of work, it has been examined. The present article, which has been analyzed using the descriptive-analytical method and using the inference method, shows that according to the approach of special works and Sadeghi and the type of images and collections created, different periods of work are divided into the second and third stages. Farabi's theory is close and it is possible to measure the imagination of contemporary artworks based on Farabi's theory.
